Manchester City and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Manchester City have won all six of their league games so far and should be able to make it seven in a row against a Wolves side who have four defeats in their six games, but the hosts can at least grab a consolation effort. Wolves have scored in each of their last seven games and have scored in 10 consecutive home games stretching back into last season, while City have just one clean sheet in their last five across all competitions.

Manchester City 4-1

Reason for tip

Wolves have lost 4-1 to Brighton this season, while Liverpool and Crystal Palace have both scored three goals against them. City are averaging 2.7 goals-per-game in the league and will be keen to make a bit of a statement after their cup exit, so a 4-1 win for the visitors appeals.

Erling Haaland To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Erling Haaland has already scored eight Premier League goals and has only failed to score in one league games this term. City’s Norwegian star can add to his haul at Wolves after remaining on the bench in the midweek cup defeat to Newcastle.

Wolverhampton vs Manchester City Predictions

  • City have conceded in five of their last six games
  • Wolves have scored in each of their last seven games.
  • City have won all six of their league games.

City can bounce back against Wolves

Manchester City suffered a first defeat of the season in midweek as they were dumped out of the EFL Cup by Newcastle but they can respond with a Premier League win at Wolves on Saturday.

The champions are the only team with a 100% record after six rounds of fixtures with 18 points, while Wolves have picked up just four points from their six fixtures.

Wolves can strike in defeat

City should be expected to win fairly convincingly here given how they have started the season, despite the defeat to Newcastle with a rotated starting XI, but Wolves can at least grab a consolation effort.

Pep Guardiola’s men have managed just one clean sheet in their last five games in all competitions, conceding in each of their last three away games, and they have just one shut-out in their last four in the league.

Meanwhile, Wolves have scored in seven consecutive games – despite losing four of those – and they have scored in each of their last 10 home games stretching back into last season.

The visitors will also be without suspended midfielder Rodri, a key contributor in their defensive play, so Wolves should be able to carve out a couple of chances.

City can win with room to spare

Wolves have lost 4-1 to Brighton this season, while Liverpool and Crystal Palace have both scored three goals against them. City are averaging 2.7 goals-per-game in the league and will be keen to make a bit of a statement after that loss at St James’ Park, so a 4-1 win for the visitors looks a reasonable correct score pick here.

Erling Haaland was given the night off at Newcastle as he was left on the bench but will come back into the starting side on Saturday. The Norwegian has eight Premier League goals to his name already, failing to score in just one of City’s six fixtures, and he is the obvious choice for an anytime scorer bet.
