Wolves vs Leeds Predictions & Betting Tips, Match Previews

Wolves come into this game following a tough run of fixtures. They’ve only taken 1 point from their last 4 games but the last 3 were all against sides considered strong promotion contenders at the start of the season. They may feel as though they’ve deserved more than a point from their recent matches with none of them settled by more than a goal and will be eager to get back on track with 3 points here.

That won’t be easy though against a Leeds side that are looking quite solid under Gary Monk. Like Wolves, they’ve been a bit up and down so far with a few excellent wins but also several matches where they’ve fallen just short. They conceded a last gasp equaliser against Wigan on Tuesday and had to settle for a point from a game they’d certainly have been hoping to win. Almost all of their recent matches have been very close games that could really have gone either way. They deserved something from their trip to Derby last weekend which ended in 1-0 defeat and only 1 of their last 8 matches has been settled by more than a goal.

This has all the makings of another close game too. Both teams are still a work in progress you sense under new management. Leeds lack killer instinct in the final third and have scored just 1 goal per game on average this term and only 0.83 on the road. Therefore, it’s hard to see them winning enough matches this season to challenge for the top six and it’s difficult to make a case as to why they will win this.

Wolves though still look a little bit unconvincing. They will be stronger in the second half of the season when they have a few players back from injury and have gelled together better as a team. With just 2 wins from their last 10 though, they look a bit short at around Evens to win this, particularly with Leeds having conceded 1 or fewer goals in 4 of their last 5 away games.

Therefore, backing a 1-1 draw at 11/2 looks to offer the best value in the correct score market here.
