2020 NBA All-Star Weekend Tips and Predictions

Chicago
Friday 14th February 2020 to Monday 17th February 2020

Kawhi Leonard & Lebron James

The unofficial half way point of the NBA season is here as the All-Star Weekend heads to
Chicago. Over the course of the weekend, we will see some of the best players from the league flaunt their skill and athleticism across several different events and challenges. We take a look at each competition from the exciting weekend and pick out our favourite bets.

This years All-Star game will see a new format. The points will reset to zero at the end of every quarter until the end of the third. At the start of the 4th quarter, whoever has the highest total points will need to score 24 points to win the game. For example, if Team LeBron is leading 100-90, the first team to hit 124 points will be crowned the winners. The idea came as a way to honour the late Kobe Bryant with 24 being his most recent jersey number. The teams will also wear either 24 or 8 in memory.

Team LeBron -5 Point Spread

vs Team Giannis

Lebron has picked some incredible shooters with Leonard, Doncic and Harden all starting alongside Lebron and Anthony Davis. The bench is also stacked with Westbrook, Booker, Tatum, Jokic and Chris Paul who have all shown brilliance the past few seasons. On paper, the team is much strongr than Team Giannis which showed in the second half of last seasons contest where Team Lebron won by 14 points despite being behind by 16 points in the first quarter.

Over 300 Total Points

Team LeBron vs Team Giannis

We saw 342 total points scored in the All Star game last season and we have seen some incredibly high scoring games in the NBA this season. 4 starters in James, Giannis, Harden and Doncic lead the NBA in points scored per game this season and are combining for 109 points per game alone. We should see another exciting contest, especially with each quarter being its own mini-game in the 2020 format.

LeBron James

All Star MVP

The MVP usually comes from the winning team and Lebron has a chance to become the 12th Laker to pick up the award. He will also tie the late Kobe Bryant with 4 All-Star awards and he clearly has the motivation and will to go on and honour his close friend.
