Monday Tennis Accumulator
I’m going with the form player here, and that’s Fernando Verdasco. The Spaniard has picked up some decent wins in recent weeks, whereas Edmund has struggled on a clay-court, and he’s coming into this on a four match losing streak. Verdasco also won the only previous meeting between these two, and I see him beating Edmund again.
Pablo Carreno-Busta picks up a big win in this one. These two have both struggled on the clay so far this year, but Carreno-Busta reached the quarter-finals here last year and so that should give him some confidence. Pablo Carreno-Busta won their only other meeting, and I think he does so again.
Marco Cecchinato delights the home crowd with a good win here. The Italian ace is the superior clay-court player, while De Minaur is yet to pick up a win on this surface this season. Cecchinato will be too good in this one.
I expect Gasquet to pick up a good win. The Frenchman has only recently returned from injury, but he’s coming up against a player he has a good record against. Gasquet leads the head-to-head record 5-1, which includes winning their only previous meeting. Gasquet has the mental edge in this matchup, and I like him to win.
