AFC Wimbledon vs Port Vale Predictions
- Port Vale have won four of their last five meetings with AFC Wimbledon
- Vale have scored exactly two goals in five of their last seven matches
- AFC Wimbledon have won their last five match in all competitions
Wombles could find progress halted
AFC Wimbledon have been in fantastic form recently, and their four-match winning streak has lifted them to fifth in the League One standings heading into this weekend’s round of matches.
That sees them just four points off leaders Stevenage but we predict a minor setback when Port Vale roll into town to take on the Wombles.
Vale made a slow start to the campaign and approach this fixture down in 16th spot, nine points adrift of this week’s opponents, but they have lost just one of their last six matches in all competitions. That defeat came to Arsenal in the League Cup, so the Valiants won’t be having too many sleepless nights over that loss.
More importantly, league results have been good and their recent record against Wimbledon also makes for good reading, so a draw is our prediction for this clash between two in-form sides.
Port Vale have won four of their last five meetings with Johnnie Jackson’s side and there has been no shortage of goals either.
Six of the eight dust-ups between these two have featured at least three goals, while Vale have scored two or more in six of their eight clashes with the Wombles.
Darren Moore’s men have scored exactly two goals in five of their last seven matches in all competitions, so a 2-2 scoreline looks the way to go for correct-score wagers.
Wimbledon have scored two or more in each of their last five fixtures, so a high-scoring affair can be expected at Kingsmeadow this weekend.
