Latest MLB Predictions

NY Yankees Money Line
vs BOS Red Sox
Reason for tip

For a third game in a row, the Yankees rallied late in a game to pick up a victory.  That’s not always ideal when you’re trying to make a push into the playoffs, but a win is a win. Bello has struggled against the Yankees this season, and I expect that to continue today.  Cole should be able to handle this struggling Red Sox team.

KC Royals -1.5 Run Line
@ PIT Pirates
Reason for tip

I am chasing a +150 payout in a spot where KC should be more heavily favored. After an 8-3 win Friday, the Royals have the hot and motivated offense. Pitt is just playing it out at this point. Wacha is inexplicably good this year, so let’s just go with it. Chase the hot bats and the motivated team at a great payout.

Under 7.5 Total Runs
LA Dodgers @ ATL Braves
Reason for tip

There is rain in the forecast and the wind is blowing in. We also have 2 of the best pitchers in the league on the mound in Sale and Flaherty. Sale should win the Cy Young, and the Braves can’t seem to hit righties lately. We should have a quiet first half of the game, then only see the high leverage bullpen arms. I expect a low-scoring tight one.

MIL Brewers Money Line
@ ARI Diamondbacks
Reason for tip

Brandon Pfaadt enters this game in poor form, allowing 4 or more earned runs in 4 of his last 5 starts. Milwaukee has a patient offense that should be able to attack his in-zone tendencies. Tobias Myers is in good form on the other side for the Brewers and despite the tough matchup he is my preferred starting option.

Under 7.5 Total Runs
SD Padres @ SF Giants
Reason for tip

Both Joe Musgrove and Mason Black faced these opposing offenses in their last starts just a week ago, and neither pitcher performed well in those outings with 10 combined earned runs allowed. Despite the pitcher-friendly park and solid bullpens I lean towards more runs in this matchup.

SEA Mariners Money Line
vs TEX Rangers
Reason for tip

The Mariners have won 61% of their home games when they’re the favorite this season and because of that I really like their chances against the Rangers here. The road team ranks just 25th in wOBA (.290) and 23rd in wRC+ (90) over the last month of play, plus they’ll be going against Logan Gilbert against whom they’ve not scored a run this season so far.

Mega Odds Accumulators – If you thought returns on standard accumulators were big, wait until you see what you can get from a mega odds acca! These are on offer whenever there’s a full schedule of MLB action.

What does run line mean in baseball betting?

The run line is a type of handicap bet in baseball. Think of handicap betting in football – it’s essentially the same thing. To give an example, you could place a run line bet that looks like this: New York Yankees 1.5 @ Boston Red Sox +1.5. So with this 1.5 run line, the Red Sox must win the game outright or lose by less than 1.5 runs for your bet to win. If the Yankees win they must do so by more than 1.5 runs for your bet to win.

The ‘alternative run line’ is the same as above but the standard run line is altered to a different number of runs. If the spread is set at a whole number, such as New York Yankees -1 @ Boston Red Sox +1, and your team wins/loses by that exact number of runs then your bet is considered a push and your stake will be refunded.

Other MLB betting terms explained

Money Line – This is an American sports term which simply refers to one team winning the match. If you are backing a team on the money line then they must win for your bet to come in. In betting terms, the phrase ‘New York Yankees Money Line’ means ‘New York Yankees to win’.

Game Totals – This is betting on the total number of runs scored in the game. This works just like goals betting in football, and might look like this: New York Yankees @ Boston Red Sox – Over/Under 7.5. This would mean you need 8 total runs or more to win the Overs part of the bet and 7 total runs or less to win the Unders.

As with the run line, ‘alternative game totals’ is the same as normal game totals but the number of runs is altered. These tips can be found under our alternative game totals tab. If the game total is a whole number, such as 7, and the total runs scored are 7, then your bet becomes a push and your stake is refunded.

Parlay – This is a term Americans use for accumulators. These give you the chance for big winnings!

How best to bet on baseball

The best way is to be informed. Our baseball tips are given by experts and give you all the information you need before placing a bet. If you’d like to supplement these with a bit of your own research, make sure to take a couple of factors into account.

Look at how strong each team’s defence is by analysing their starting pitcher, and how strong their attack is by observing their hitters. External factors such as home-field advantage and weather conditions (particularly wind speed, temperature and humidity) can also have an impact.

Using free bets is another great way to bet on baseball, and you can find the best of these on our free bets page. All our MLB picks are fully researched and completely free but we can’t guarantee winners. Please gamble responsibly and visit our gambling guidelines for more information (18+).

Who is most likely to win the 2022 World Series?

The World Series is an annual championship contested between the American League (AL) champion and the National League (NL) champion. It takes place in autumn, so is often also known as the Fall Classic.

You can check out the current standings here. Traditionally strong teams include the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox.
