      AFC Wimbledon vs Shrewsbury Predictions

      • Wimbledon have scored once in their last seven matches
      • 9 leagues goals from 14 away matches are all Shrewsbury have managed this season
      • Shrewsbury haven’t scored in their last three matches

Wimbledon baron run in front of goal set to continue

A dull affair is in the offing at Plough Lane on Saturday. Neither of these sides are prolific in front of goal and life has been made even more difficult for Wimbledon following the departure of Ollie Palmer to Wrexham. Both teams are firmly in the relegation battle, and this looks set to be a cagey affair.

Wimbledon have scored just once in their last seven games and have failed to find the net in their last three matches on home soil. Mark Robinson’s side have been difficult to beat at home despite this severe lack of goals, they have lost one of their last seven at Plough Lane.

Shrews away form must improve if they’re to avoid the drop

Only bottom side Doncaster have scored fewer goals on their travels than Shrewsbury this season. The Shrews have only managed nine goals in their 14 away league games this campaign, a third of all their away goals came in one game, a 3-0 victory at Fleetwood. They haven’t scored in their last three games and their last two away matches have both finished 0-0.

Under 2.5 goals will be the main selection for this game and it is a very confident one at that. I can’t see where the goals are coming from for either of these teams and I am happy to play accordingly. I weighed up tipping the draw as my main selection but will settle for using it as my correct score prediction, I will go for 0-0. Shrewsbury’s last two away matches have ended in 0-0, whilst two of Wimbledon’s last three home matches have also ended in this score line.
