      Under 1.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

The last three meetings between these two sides have finished 1-0 and another low-scoring battle is expected on Monday. Alaves have scored just 21 goals in 24 La Liga games this season, while a maximum of two goals have been scored in five of Girona’s last six matches.

      Girona 1-0

      Reason for tip

Each of the last three meetings between this pair have finished 1-0, with two of them ending in favour of Girona. The Catalans are in decent form, winning five of their last nine, and can edge what should be a closely-fought contest.

      Mendizorrotza set for cagey battle

Alaves and Girona still have work to do to pull clear of La Liga’s relegation zone and a tense battle could ensue at the Mendizorrotza on Monday.

Eduardo Coudet’s hosts are amongst the lowest scorers in the division, netting just 21 goals in 24 matches, but no team has conceded fewer goals than their total of 30 out of the sides that started this weekend in the bottom nine.

Girona have also been defensively robust of late but average just a goal per-game at the other end, which has contributed to five of their last six matches featuring no more than two goals.

Girona may just have the edge

The only match in Girona’s last six that has seen more than two goals scored was last Monday’s 2-1 come-from-behind success over Barcelona, a result that further underlined the Catalonians upturn in form.

Michel’s team, who finished third in La Liga just two seasons ago, have picked up five wins from their last nine – having won two of their first 15 – and that run includes narrow successes on the road at Real Sociedad, Mallorca and Espanyol.

Another closely-fought contest is expected on Monday, with each of the last three head-to-heads finishing 1-0, two of which have gone in favour of Girona.
