There hasn’t been a World Cup final without a European side since 1950, and the European champions can extend that streak this summer.

Argentina’s evergreen superstar Lionel Messi is the tournament’s leading scorer with eight goals. Messi has scored in every game so far and can keep that streak going in this quarter final tie.

Argentina have scored 14 goals across their five World Cup games but have started to show signs of vulnerability at the back. The defending champions have conceded in each of their last three games, shipping five goals in total across their games with Jordan, Cape Verde and Egypt. Switzerland had scored nine goals in four games prior to their 0-0 draw with Colombia, who are perhaps a stronger defensive unit than Argentina, so both of these teams look capable of scoring.
