Barcelona and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Barcelona have won both their matches since Xavi announced his plans to step down as head coach at the end of the season and they can make it three successes on the bounce against struggling Granada. The visitors will fancy their chances of scoring, though, as they have a good recent record against Barca and the Blaugrana have also kept just two clean-sheets across their last 14 games.

Barcelona 3-1

Reason for tip

Barca appear to be rediscovering some kind of form and, after beating Alaves 3-1 last week, they can repeat that trick against lowly Granada, who are capable of scoring against Barca – they have netted nine across the last five meetings between the two sides.

Barcelona vs Granada Predictions

  • Barcelona have won both their matches since Xavi announced his plans to depart
  • The Blaugrana have kept just two clean-sheets in their last 14 games
  • Granada have scored nine goals across their last five meetings with Barcelona

Barca seemingly back on track

Xavi announced his plans to step down as Barcelona head coach at the end of the season following last month’s home defeat to Villarreal, but since then the Blaugrana have won back-to-back games.

They will now be targeting a third win on the bounce when they host a struggling Granada side that have taken just six points from the 14 league matches they have played since drawing with Barca in October’s reverse fixture.

Granada are at least heading into the weekend as the highest scorers in the bottom four and they will fancy their chances of troubling the scoresheet against a leaky Barcelona backline that has kept just two clean-sheets across their last 14 matches in all competitions

Granada can trouble host’s defence again

While Barca should win this match given they are heading into the weekend sitting third in the standings and Granada are 19th, it must be remembered Sunday’s visitors have not lost any of their last five meetings with the Catalonians inside 90 minutes.

The Nazaries have scored nine goals across those five games and they have players that can hurt Barca, although the recent departure of winger Bryan Zaragoza to Bayern Munich will impact on their creative flair.

Granada can score in this game, but Barca should ultimately prove too strong and it would be no surprise to see Xavi’s side replicate the 3-1 victory they claimed at Alaves last weekend.
