Barcelona to Win

Reason for tip

Real Madrid won when these sides met in La Liga earlier this season but Barcelona have still been the dominant team in El Clasico recently with three wins in the last five meetings. This is the fourth consecutive Supercopa final between these two rivals and Barcelona have won two of the previous three, while Real are also hindered by the absence of leading scorer Kylian Mbappe. Barca have won nine in a row across all competitions and can make it 10 in Jeddah.

Barcelona 3-1

Reason for tip

Each of the last four editions of this final have been decided by at least two-goal margins and Barca have picked up five consecutive wins by two or more goals ahead of Sunday’s showpiece. Real look capable of scoring even in Mbappe’s absence and a 3-1 win for the Catalans is the pick.

Raphinha To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Raphinha scored twice against Bilbao in the semi-finals and now has five goals in his last four games. The Barca forward looks a good candidate for an anytime goal on Sunday.

Barcelona vs Real Madrid Predictions

  • Barcelona have won three of the last five meetings (D1, L1).
  • Barcelona are on a nine-game winning run.
  • Real Madrid are without star forward Kylian Mbappe.

El Clasico rivals contest Supercopa final

For the fourth successive season, the Supercopa de España final will be an El Clasico as Barcelona and Real Madrid meet at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday.

Barca have had the edge with two wins in the last three meetings and they are the record holders in this competition with 15 titles.

Real triumphed 2-1 when these sides last met in La Liga in Madrid in their only meeting so far this season, but Barcelona have still dominated this rivalry recently with three wins and no defeats in the four meetings before that loss.

The Catalan giants thrashed Athletic Bilbao 5-0 in their semi-final tie, whereas Real had to dig deep in a 2-1 victory over city rivals Atletico.

Los Blancos are without star forward Kylian Mbappe due to injury and that is a big blow for the Madrid giants. Mbappe has 29 goals this season across all competitions and no other Real player has reached double figures, so a Barcelona win looks the best bet.

Barcelona have managed five consecutive clean sheets but Xabi Alonso’s side should at least be able to get on the scoresheet. Real have scored in nine of the last 10 competitive El Clasico games, and even without Mbappe they have enough attacking talent to cause Barca a few problems.

With that in mind, a 3-1 win for the holders as each of the last four editions of this final haven been decided by at least two-goal margins and Barca have picked up five consecutive wins by two or more goals.

Raphinha scored twice against Bilbao and now has five goals in his last four games. The Barca forward looks a good candidate for an anytime goal on Sunday.
