Barca can take step towards title

Barcelona entertain Real Madrid in the latest installment of the El Clasico on Sunday and this fixture will have a huge say in the title race.

A victory for the hosts would give them a seven point lead over Real with just three games remaining, while a win for the visitors would put them right back in contention.

Barcelona were dealt a blow in midweek as they were dumped out of the Champions League by Inter Milan in extra time – but Sunday’s contest looks an ideal chance to respond.

This will be the fourth meeting between these sides this season and Barcelona have had the measure of their bitter rivals this season.

The Catalan giants won 4-0 in the reverse fixture and crushed Real 5-2 in the Supercopa final, despite playing for over half an hour with 10 men.

Last month’s Copa del Rey final was a closer affair but Barcelona still triumphed in extra time after a 2-2 draw in 90 minutes.

Fatigue could be a bit of an issue for Barca after they were taken to extra time on Tuesday and Real have to win to stand any realistic chance of taking the title. As such this game could be a lot closer than the reverse fixture, and a 2-1 home win looks to have a chance in the correct score market as Barcelona have conceded in six of their last seven games.

Raphina has scored in back-to-back games and has 16 goals in 32 La Liga games for Barcelona this season. The Brazilian has three goals in as many games against Los Blancos this term and he can add to his haul for the season this weekend.
