      Under 2.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

Recent trends suggest a low-scoring encounter, with four of Leyton Orient’s last five games and five of Barnsley’s last eight producing fewer than three goals. Additionally, the defensive solidity of Orient, with three consecutive clean sheets, supports betting on under 2.5 goals.

      Barnsley 1-0

      Reason for tip

Barnsley have won five of their league games by a single goal, while Leyton Orient have lost six matches by the same margin this season. Considering Barnsley’s slight edge and Orient’s defensive focus, a 1-0 home win is a reasonable prediction.

      Barnsley vs Leyton Orient Predictions

Goals in short supply at Oakwell

Three of the last four League One meetings between Barnsley and Leyton Orient have gone under 2.5 goals and Saturday’s game at Oakwell may not produce many goals.

Both teams have won more games than they’ve lost this season, but Darrell Clarke’s Barnsley are 11 places higher than Leyton Orient in the table, with eight points separating the two sides.

Barnsley have recorded only one victory in their last six games in League One, but that victory did come in their last outing, beating Exeter 2-1 last Saturday.

However, Leyton Orient are tough opponents and are unbeaten in five of their last six matches in the division.

Going under the goals looks a better play than trying to pick a winner in the match result.

Four of Leyton Orient’s last five league games have produced fewer than three goals and their last match was a 0-0 draw against Burton.

That extended Orient’s sequence of clean sheets in the league to three, while five of Barnsley’s last eight games in League One have also landed for those who have bet on under 2.5 goals.

Barnsley have won five of their eight league games by a single goal and Leyton Orient, managed by Richie Wellens, have lost six times by the same margin this season, so a 1-0 home win is the correct-score worth backing.
