Bochum vs Heidenheim Predictions

  • Seven of Bochum’s ten league draws this season have come on home soil
  • Both teams have scored in 19 of Bochum’s 25 league games this term, which includes a 3-2 win at Heidenheim earlier in the season
  • Heidenheim have lost only three of their last 16 Bundesliga 2 matches

Neutrals set to be entertained

The Ruhrstadion has been the place to go for entertainment in Bundesliga 2 this season with Bochum’s 13 home matches combining to feature 55 goals – an average of 4.23 per game.

Seven of those 13 outings have finished as draws, the latest of which was a 4-4 thriller against Sanhausen prior to the lockdown layoff in early March.

Both-teams-to-score backers have been disappointed only twice in that time and the visit of highfliers Heidenheim, who are fourth and just two points behind Stuttgart in second, should ensure they are rewarded once more.

Heidenheim inconsistent on their travels

Heidenheim will still have realistic ambitions of securing promotion this season but it has been a mixed bag of success on their travels.

The visitors have won four, drew four and lost four of their 12 away games this term. Interestingly, three of their four stalemates have come on trips to Nuremberg, Karlsruher and Wehen Wiesbaden, who are housed alongside Bochum in the bottom five of the standings.

Bochum explosive at home

Bochum were surprise 3-2 winners in Heidenheim earlier in the season and it should come as no surprise to see another high-scoring contest.

Heidenheim have won three of their last five away games to nil but Bochum are the division’s leading scorers on home soil with 28 goals – one more than Stuttgart in second and Hamburg in third – so are not to be taken lightly.

Thomas Reis’ side have scored two or more in ten of their 13 home games, only failing to find the net once. The draw specialists have notched exactly twice in five of those affairs, so taking a chance on a 2-2 scoreline could reap the rewards.
