Bologna 3-1 @ 11/1

Reason For Bologna vs Torino Predictions

  • Torino have failed to win an away game under Moreno Longo, losing six of seven trips
  • The visitors have lost 12 of 18 away trips overall
  • Bologna have won four out of five home clashes with the bottom six so far
  • Torino have conceded three times or more in seven away trips this term

Mixed returns for Rossoblu

When this Serie A campaign started almost 12 months ago, Bologna kicked things off with some impressive attacking displays. The season which followed on from that has been quite mixed, with the Rossoblu sitting in 12th place having consistently steered clear of the relegation battle.

The same can’t be said for Torino, who fell from playing in Europe this time last year to sitting in 16th place going into the final day. The Granata could slip to 17th and finish just a point clear of danger if the two sides behind them win. Our predictions point to their terrible campaign taking another hit.

Torino’s terrible run

Torino are yet to win a Serie A game away from home under Moreno Longo (L6 D1), the last manager that failed to win his first eight away games in charge of the Granata was Walter Novellino (10 in 2007/08).

Their problems are likely to get worse against Bologna, as their record here sees the hosts leading by 33 wins to 12, with 16 draws. That’s still better than their away record this term, which has brought four wins and 12 defeats in 18 trips for the Granata, giving them the league’s third-worst away record.

Vulnerable visitors to lose out

Torino may be safe, but their record this term is arguably worthy of relegation trouble. Only Brescia (34) have lost more points than Torino (27) from leading situations this season in Serie A. That has seen them fail to hit the 40 point mark this season, their worst return at this point of the season since 2013.

Bologna should be able to take advantage, having won four of their five clashes against the bottom six at home. We see them edging out a Torino side who have been dreadful on the road, so our predictions here start with a home win. On top of that, we’re backing a 3-1 victory for the hosts, with the Granata shipping three or more on seven occasions away from home this term.
