Brighton vs Wolverhampton Predictions
- Wolves have seen both teams score in 11 of their last 13 away games
- Both sides have struck in each of their last eight Premier League matches
- Brighton have seen BTTS land in four of their last five league games
- Wolves have lost 2-1 on four occasions on the road this season
Brighton out to bounce back
After a gruelling FA Cup semi-final on Sunday, Brighton’s midweek trip to Nottingham Forest looked tough. We expected them to falter at the City ground, which paid off in our 135/1 acca winner.
However, Roberto De Zerbi’s side will aim to return to form after just one win in their last four, as the Seagulls try to book a place in Europe. Their hopes of a top-seven finish look slim right now, but a victory over a Wolves side who struggle on the road could get them back in the mix.
Are Wolves ready for the beach?
Wolves’ players probably have slightly more tropical climbs in mind than Brighton when they think of the beach, but the summer could well be on the mind of the visitors. After beating Palace 2-0 in midweek, Wolves are onto 37 points and seem safe from the drop. Palace themselves hit that point total earlier this month, before taking their foot off the gas in the following two games.
However, the visitors should still put up something of a fight in this trip. They’ve won three of their last four games to haul themselves towards safety, although each of those wins have come at Molineux.
The away side have the fourth-worst away record in the Premier League this term and look like the perfect foil for a Brighton side hoping to return to form. The only issue for the hosts’ is their defensive problems, something which Wolves are in a good position to exploit.
Back goals at the Amex
The hosts have conceded in 70% of their league games this term and they head into Saturday’s match having seen both teams score in four of their last five matches. The Seagulls are a real attacking threat having scored in each of their last eight league games, but so have Wolves.
Julen Lopetegui’s side have scored in successive visits to Newcastle, Nottingham Forest and Leicester and they can exploit a Brighton side who have been shipping goals of late. Wolves come here having seen both teams score in 11 of their last 13 trips and with the Seagulls playing an adventurous style there’s value in backing goals in this one.
The away side have made a habit out of 2-1 defeats, suffering four on their travels this term. Almost half of their away defeats have finished by that scoreline, so back Brighton to secure a narrow win on Saturday.
