Bristol Rovers vs Exeter City Predictions
- Bristol Rovers have netted in all bar one of their last 14 games
- Exeter have scored in seven of their last eight matches
- Both teams have scored in 11 of Exeter’s most recent 14 games on the road
Rovers pushing hard for the play-offs
Three successive wins and four clean sheets in a row have pulled Bristol Rovers up to within only three points of the play-off positions, with their goal scoring exploits making them a threat to any opposition.
Joey Barton’s side have now scored in 28 of their last 30 games, failing to find the back of the net on only five occasions in all competitions this season.
They have been tight at the back recently, but their record against the top seven is not so strong; in their ten previous matches against sides in the play-offs or higher, they have kept just two clean sheets.
Exeter heading for the top three?
While the Gas have won three in a row, Exeter head to Bristol looking for a fifth successive victory and are now up to fourth in the table, just three points off the top three with games in hand.
Matt Taylor’s side have one of the strongest away records in League Two, winning six times in 15 games and scoring in ten of their last 13 on their travels.
Both teams however have netted in eight of their last 11 on the road, showing they are susceptible to a defensive slip-up at the other end.
This is a game where I expect both teams to score, so that is my initial selection, but I find it difficult to separate the two sides, so I predict a 1-1 draw as a correct score.
