Tip Reasoning

  • Burnley have won their last three league meetings with Norwich, including back-to-back 2-0 wins in the top flight.
  • Norwich have lost 16 Premier League games in a row.
  • The Canaries have scored just three goals in this period, conceding 40.

Burnley show signs of improvement

Burnley came within a VAR decision of their first Premier League win of the season at Leicester last weekend but they have a great chance to make up for that disappointment when they face Norwich on Saturday.

The Clarets twice went ahead at the King Power Stadium only to be pegged back on both occasions by Jamie Vardy, before a last-gasp Chris Wood goal was ruled out for offside. Despite the late drama, it was still a positive performance from the much-maligned Burnley and they are justified favourites as they return to Turf Moor.

Hapless Canaries’ losing streak continues

Opponents Norwich have no such positive performance to draw a morale boost from. They fell to an expected but no less frustrating defeat at Everton last time out to maintain their pointless start to the season.

Daniel Farke’s Canaries have now lost an incredible 16 top-flight games in a row, scoring just three goals in total and conceding 40, including two against Burnley in a 2-0 defeat back in July 2020.

Clarets to claim first win of the season

That was Burnley’s third successive league win over Norwich and each of their Premier League encounters that season ended 2-0 to the Clarets.

They may be without a win this season but they have performed much better than Norwich and I’m backing them to get the three points on Saturday, along with another 2-0 correct score prediction.

Burnley predicted lineup: Pope; Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor; Gudmundsson, Westwood, Brownhill, McNeil; Barnes, Wood

Norwich predicted lineup: Krul; Kabak, Hanley, Gibson; Aarons, Gilmour, Normann, Lees-Melou, Giannoulis; Sargent, Pukki

  • Burnley have won the last two Premier League head-to-heads by a two-goal margin
  • No Premier League team has fewer goals than Norwich’s two in six Premier League games
