Cagliari Double Chance (Win or Draw)

Reason for tip

Cagliari are have lost just one of their last eight matches and earned a good point at the San Siro last weekend against runaway Serie A leaders Inter Milan, suggesting they should have enough to earn at least another when they welcome Juventus, who have been poor for a while and have failed to win any of their last five away games.

Cagliari 2-1

Reason for tip

While Juventus may struggle to win in Sardinia, they should have enough to score. Both teams to score has been a winning bet in Cagliari’s last seven home matches, so back the Old Lady to net in this tie – albeit one may be their limit, given they have scored just three times in their last five away outings.

Cagliari vs Juventus Predictions

  • Cagliari have lost only one of their last eight games
  • Juventus are on a five-match winless run on the road, losing three times in that sequence
  • Both teams to score has been a winning bet in Cagliari’s last seven home games

No joy for Juve in Sardinia

Juventus were held to a 0-0 draw by mid-table rivals Torino in the Turin derby last weekend and more misery could be on the cards for Max Allegri and his side on Friday.

The Old Lady lost the shot count 13-8 in the derby, a match which really underlined Juve’s inability to perform on their travels. Allegri’s men have failed to win any of their last five away games, drawing with lowly Verona and losing to inconsistent Lazio in that run, and that streak may reach six in Sardinia.

Cagliari earned an impressive point at San Siro last Sunday by holding runaway Serie A leaders Inter Milan to a 2-2 draw, a result which is made more impressive given the table toppers had conceded only 15 goals in their 31 games prior to the visit of the Islanders.

Home comforts can help Cagliari

While that point came away from home, it is at the Stadio Unipol Domus where Claudio Ranieri’s side have really impressed lately.

Cagliari are on a four-match unbeaten run on their own patch which includes a draw with champions Napoli and a 2-1 victory over Atalanta, who demonstrated their talent when thrashing Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield last Thursday.

Given Juve have managed just three goals in their last five away games and the Islanders have netted eight in their last four at home, it could pay to back the hosts to avoid defeat against the faltering Old Lady on Friday.
