Salzburg the first test for Potter’s Chelsea

Graham Potter’s tenure as Chelsea manager begins on Wednesday as Salzburg visit Stamford Bridge in the Champions League.

Thomas Tuchel was axed following the Blues’ 1-0 defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in the opening round of group games, while Salzburg have one point on the board after playing out a 1-1 draw with AC Milan in Austria in their opener.

There is an element of uncertainty going into this clash as it remains to be seen as to how Chelsea will respond to a change in manager, while Salzburg shouldn’t be underestimated as they are bidding to extend an eight-game unbeaten run (W7, D1).
