Cheltenham Double Chance (Win or Draw)
Reasoning
Cheltenham vs Notts County Predictions
- Cheltenham have three wins in their last four League Two home games.
- Notts County have failed to win four of their seven league trips.
- County have scored in four consecutive away games across all competitions.
Rocking Robins can dent Notts County’s promotion bid
There is one League Two fixture on Monday night as in-form Cheltenham host promotion hopefuls Notts County at Whaddon Road.
The Magpies sit in sixth spot going into this round of fixtures, although they may have dropped out of the play-off places by the time this game kicks off.
Cheltenham are among the relegation candidates but they are one of the division’s form teams with 10 points from the last available 12, and they can get a positive result on Monday.
The Robins are big price underdogs but there is enough value in backing the hosts in the double chance market, which is why I’ve taken a prudent approach with the main bet.
After losing their opening three League Two home games, Cheltenham have three wins and one defeat in their last four and overall they are in fine form – with just one defeat in their last seven across all competitions.
Steve Cotterill’s side stunned League One outfit Bradford in the FA Cup last weekend and they can carry that momentum into this league game against a Notts County side who travel poorly. County have only won two of their 10 trips across all competitions this season, failing to win five of their seven away games in League Two.
Notts County can strike in defeat
I’m opting for a 2-1 win for Cheltenham as the correct score prediction as they have been an all or nothing team at home. The Robins have five wins and five defeats at home across all competitions, with their only draw coming in an EFL Trophy game against Spurs U21s.
Notts County are generally good for a goal on their travels and they’ve scored in each of their last four away games but Cheltenham are the form team and they can grind out a victory.
Isaac Hutchinson is Cheltenham’s leading scorer this season with four goals in League Two and he stands out as a potential scorer in this clash. The midfielder hit the only goal of the game against Bradford so he should come into the game in confident mood and he can help his side stun the high-flying visitors.
