Club Brugge vs Anderlecht Betting Tips & Predictions

There are just three games left in the Belgian Pro-League Championship playoffs and Club Brugge and Anderlecht are facing a potentially defining clash with each other in the race for the title.

The hosts sit three points clear at the top of the Championship table after topping the regular season table. Anderlecht are only three points behind them though, so a win on Sunday would see them draw level on points with them. They would still be slightly behind Club Brugge though due to the rounding up of their points at the beginning of the Championship, but they would have an excellent chance of pushing them right to the end of the season.

Club Brugge come into this match on the back of three straight victories which got them back on track after they lost back to back games against Anderlecht and Genk. At home they are a force to be reckoned with though, with nine wins and one defeat coming from their last ten outings.

Anderlecht have managed to slash the gap that Brugge held over them at the beginning of the Championship thanks to five wins and one draw from their seven playoff games so far. The fact that one of these victories came against Club Brugge will also provide a nice psychological boost, as will the fact that they have now won four games in a row against them.

The visitors do struggle away from home a bit though. They have lost three of their last five on the road and only won once, and they cannot afford to lose this one. A defeat on Sunday would put Club Brugge six points clear at the top of the Championship table with six points left to play for. Due to the rounding up of Anderlecht’s points this would hand Club Brugge the title.

This could result in a high scoring game on Sunday. Anderlecht will be gunning for the victory, which could leave them open at the back. This isn’t a good move against Club Brugge, who have scored 20 goals in their last six outings at home and seen all but one of them end with at least three goals scored.

Five of Anderlecht’s last six on the road have had more than two goals scored too, so odds of 13/20 for Over 2.5 Goals look rather good value. I’m also backing a high scoring Club Brugge Win with a 3-2 correct score prediction at 18/1.
