DC in playoff struggle

Wayne Rooney’s DC United are in a real battle for the playoffs, as they sit ninth in the Eastern Conference. That puts them on course for the wild card game, as they need to climb to seventh in order to secure a spot in the first round.

The hosts have lost their last two games and they’ve won only two of their last 10 matches, a run which started with a 2-1 defeat in Cincinnati. With the visitors on a fine run, another defeat could loom for Rooney’s side.

Visitors soaring in the west

Cincinnati have opened up an impressive lead at the top of the Eastern Conference, putting them in a great position for a deep playoff run. The visitors have stepped up in an impressive way in the last month or so, winning seven of their last eight MLS games.

The visitors have lost just one of their eight away trips this season and with a fine run of form behind them Cincinnati look like great value as the outsiders here. Only four MLS sides have a worse home record than DC United and with three losses in their last five games the home side look vulnerable.

Cincinnati are great value for a win on the road and they are worth looking at on the Draw No Bet market, but I’m confident in them outright in this trip. With both teams scoring in DC’s last five, a 2-1 correct score prediction is my selection in this one.
