Espanyol hoping to end poor run

The form book looks dire for Espanyol, but of their six La Liga defeats since February, five have come on the road, showing they are much stronger at the RCDE Stadium.

Indeed, Vicente Moreno’s side have won three of their last four at home, up to a 1-0 defeat to Rayo Vallecano last time out, a run that includes victories over Celta Vigo, Getafe and Mallorca.

They have also held Sevilla and Barcelona to draws, with their overall record at the RCDE for the season reading nine wins, four draws and just four defeats, two of them to sides in the European places.

Osasuna aiming for the top ten

Ninth placed Osasuna have enjoyed just one top half finish in La Liga over the last decade, so it would be quite something of they could maintain their current position in the table.

Jagoba Arrasate may need to improve his side’s away form to that, as they have lost three of their last four on the road, although each of those defeats was against a side above them in the table.

Their last match on their travels was a 1-1 draw at Elche, one of three stalemates from 17 fixtures, while when considering all venues, they are on a run of five wins in 13.

It is hard to call this game, but I will take the insurance of Espanyol double chance as my initial selection, with 1-1 my correct score prediction.
