Can France bounce back to form?

France had a shocker of an international window at the end of the 2021/22 season, failing to win any of their four games as they suffered defeats to Denmark and Croatia, both at home.

They did pick up two draws though, 1-1 in Austria and Croatia, meaning both teams have scored in three of their last four and 11 of their last 16 outings.

Didier Deschamps is without a couple of key players, such as Adrien Rabiot and Boubacar Kamara, but they are strong at home, losing only three times in 28 matches since mid-2018.

Austria off colour as well

France aren’t the only team out of form, with Austria on a run of one win in six, while they have also been beaten in three of their last four away fixtures.

That means new boss Ralf Rangnick has picked up only one victory so far, while both teams have scored in six of their last eight matches.

Austria also don’t tend to keep many clean sheets on the road, managing just two in their most recent half a dozen away trips – one of which came against the Faroe Islands.
