      Fulham vs Huddersfield Predictions

A return of just 1 point from 3 games will have disappointed Fulham fans who were optimistic of a much better showing in their second season back in the second tier. However they shouldn’t be too down-hearted yet and have competed fully in all their games against pretty strong sides.

Their defeats came against early season pace-setters Brighton and in midweek at one of the promotion favourites Hull. Both games were fairly even contests and Fulham fell victim to late goals in each, as they did on the opening day when Cardiff grabbed a late equaliser in South Wales.

If the games had ended at 85 minutes then they’d have 5 points to their name so we shouldn’t read too much into their current lowly standing and they have looked stronger than they did last season when at times they were completely outclassed by some of the top sides.

A home game with Huddersfield offers them a more obvious chance to grab their first win and they will be determined to avoid any late slip-ups. Fulham have more quality in their ranks than the Terriers and did the double over Huddersfield last season with an aggregate score of 5-1.

They look fantastic value at 11/8 to claim another win over the Yorkshire side here. Huddersfield haven’t won any of their last 8 competitive games and also lost three times away to lower league sides in pre-season so will be heading here low on confidence and struggling to remember what winning a game feels like.

Tom Cairney has scored in both of Fulham’s last two matches and he adds real experience of life in this division into their midfield something that was certainly lacking in the last campaign when they still had a lot of foreign players who perhaps weren’t suited to the more physical side to the league.

In truth Fulham’s revival under Kit Symons really got going at the end of last season when they finished off losing just one of their final 6 games. They are certainly a better side than their current position suggests but are clearly far from the finished article.

Huddersfield have scored exactly one goal in each of their last three games without winning any of them and that could be the case again here against a Fulham side that don’t keep many clean sheets. The Londoners will cause them quite a few problems though on home soil and look good value at 17/2 for a 2-1 win.
