Harrogate Town vs Crewe Predictions

Alex can end Harrogate hot streak

Harrogate have picked up back-to-back wins without conceding in League Two but their run of good form could be ended by Crewe Alexandra on Monday.

The Sulphurites ended a four-game losing streak by beating Shrewsbury 2-0 and followed that up with a 1-0 win against Gillingham. However, there was more than a hint of smash-and-grab about that win over the Gills and they may not enjoy quite so much fortune against Crewe.

The Railwaymen made a strong start to the season before their form tailed off but a win over Notts County last time out could start a Crewe revival.

The Alex have never lost to Harrogate in seven previous meetings stretching back to 2022, winning four of those fixtures, and they can keep that run going with a win at Wetherby Road.

Crewe won at Salford and Fleetwood earlier in the season and their road performances since have remained fairly strong, even if the results don’t reflect that.

Clean sheets have been an issue for Crewe as they have gone eight games without a shut-out. Harrogate have scored in five successive games across all competitions so goals at both ends looks likely and a 2-1 win for the visitors appeals.

Josh March is Crewe’s top scorer this season with three goals and he should be on penalty duties. March hit the winner against Notts County and he can follow that up with another goal at Harrogate.
