Stuttgart should be backed away at Heidenheim on Sunday. The hosts have won just one of their last eight Bundesliga home games and are without a win in their last four on home turf.

Stuttgart are fourth in the league, 14 places and 29 points above Heidenheim, who are bottom of the table with just three wins so far.

Stuttgart kept up their recent winning trend with a 3-1 victory over Cologne at home last weekend, claiming the win late on. Ermedin Demirovic bagged a brace, including the opener on the quarter hour, and Deniz Undav also netted. The result makes it seven wins in the nine matches in which Stuttgart have been odds-on this season.

Stuttgart are in good form, having won five of their last seven Bundesliga matches and three of their last four away games. In contrast, Heidenheim have lost seven of their last nine league matches, including their last two at home.

Heidenheim’s struggles in front of goal are a major concern. They have gone goalless in three of their last four Bundesliga matches, including defeats in their last two home games without finding the net.

They are in a slump, having lost four of their last six home games in the Bundesliga.

The hosts have looked vulnerable in defence this season, with no team having a worse defensive record in the Bundesliga than Heidenheim’s 48 goals against in 22 games. They have yet to keep a clean sheet at Voith-Arena after 11 home games.

They are out of form, and backing their opponents during their current run of seven defeats in nine Bundesliga games would have resulted in a profit of 2.80 units.

A 1-0 away win for Stuttgart looks a decent correct-score bet. Three of the last five Bundesliga matches between this pair have stayed under 2.5 goals and Heidenheim have lost out by the odd goal in two of their last three matches.
