      Lens to Win

      Reason for tip

Lens look strong to beat Le Havre, who have won just once in their last ten Ligue 1 home games and conceded in 21 of their last 22. Despite losing narrowly to Lyon in their opener, Lens should capitalise on the hosts’ defensive frailties and secure a valuable away victory.

      Lens 2-0

      Reason for tip

Le Havre’s ongoing defensive issues, with 12 home games without a clean sheet, support a 2-0 Lens win. Lens won five league matches by that scoreline last season and often feature in low-scoring encounters. A solid, controlled performance from Lens makes a 2-0 correct-score result the most appealing bet.

      Le Havre vs Lens Predictions

      Struggling hosts to fall short

Lens are the best bet to win at Le Havre on Sunday. Didier Digard’s hosts have managed just one victory in their last ten home games in Ligue 1 and were beaten 3-1 away to Monaco in last week’s season opener.

Lens finished eighth in Ligue 1 last season with 52 points, winning 15 and losing 12 of their games. Le Havre, who won ten and lost 20 times, ended the campaign in 15th place with 34 points.

Lens will have been frustrated to lose 1-0 to Lyon last weekend in their first match under Pierre Sage, having been priced at 13/10 to win the game.

However, they can take advantage of a Le Havre defence that struggled badly in the second half of the previous campaign. They have gone 12 home games without keeping a clean sheet and have conceded in 21 of their last 22 matches at home.

A 2-0 win for Lens looks the best correct-score option. They won five of their 15 league games last season by a 2-0 scoreline and, with 22 of Lens’ 34 matches featuring fewer than three goals, this could be another low-scoring victory.
