      Leeds vs Burnley Predictions

The Lancashire club were relegated after just one season in the top flight but still impressed many with most of their performances last season and despite vastly inferior resources were rarely outclassed. They have managed to hold onto to most of their squad as they bid for an immediate return but the departures of Danny Ings to Liverpool and Kieran Trippier to Spurs will unquestionably be a blow.

Sean Dyche has done some smart business though and the arrival of Matt Lowton from Aston Villa should compensate for the loss of Trippier certainly at this level while they will be hoping Belgian newboy Jelle Vossen can provide goals.

There were 5 pre-season wins for Burnley but also a couple of defeats against lower league clubs so it is hard to know what to read into it but all should be more apparent on Saturday lunch-time at Elland Road.

Leeds have been in the Championship for what must seem an eternity to their fans but it is a while since they have come even close to challenging for even a play-off spot. Massimo Cellino has hired and fired numerous managers and Uwe Rosler is the latest to take on the poisoned chalice that is the Elland Road hotseat.

They claimed their first pre-season win last time out at home to Premier League Everton and perhaps this could be an improved campaign for Leeds. The arrival of Chris Woods from Leicester should give them a goal threat but with numerous comings and goings this summer it may take a few weeks before the German settles on his favoured starting eleven.

This will be a tough test for Leeds against a solid Burnley side which is similar to the one that achieved promotion two seasons ago. Burnley don’t concede a lot but nor do they score many either. There wasn’t more than 2 goals in any of their final 13 Premier League matches with all of their last eight finishing either 1-0 or 0-0.

This is likely to be a tight game too with neither side wanting to start with a defeat so backing there to be under 2.5 goals here at 8/11 looks like excellent value.
