Villarreal can pile misery on bottom-of-the-table Levante

Villarreal have won their last three Primera Liga road games and they can beat an out-of-form Levante at Ciutat de Valencia on Sunday. The hosts have suffered four straight home defeats in the league.

They are third in the league, 17 places and 26 points above Levante. The hosts are rock-bottom, with just two wins from their 15 games this season, while Villarreal have won 11 of their 15 matches.

Villarreal maintained their winning habit last weekend with a 2-0 win over Getafe, making it six wins in the seven matches in which they have been odds-on this season. They have won ten of the 12 games in which they’ve scored first (83%).

Villarreal are solid favourites, having won nine of the last ten Primera Liga games in which they were odds-on.

Levante are enduring a rough spell, having not won in seven Primera Liga games. The hosts have lost their last five matches and have only tasted victory once in their last ten outings.

Villarreal are in fine form going forward. They have scored two goals or more in 11 of their 15 league games this season, and have notched up a 4-0 win over Rayo Vallecano last month.

The visitors are in form. It is now seven games unbeaten for Villarreal in the Primera Liga, and they have won six of those. In contrast, Levante have lost six of their last seven.

The Levante defence has struggled to keep opponents at bay, with the hosts failing to keep a clean sheet in 18 of their last 20 Primera Liga games. It’s now been ten home games since Levante last kept out their opponents.

A 1-0 away win for Villarreal looks a decent correct-score bet. Levante have lost five of their last six home games in the league and Villarreal have won two of their last three by a single goal.
