Both Teams To Score - No

      Reason for tip

Goals could be at a premium when Lille host Reims, with Reims scoring just 32 goals in 33 games and failing to find the net in six straight. Lille’s solid defence should hold firm, and this clash looks like another where at least one team fails to score.

      Lille 1-0

      Reason for tip

Lille have been grinding out results and Reims are toothless in attack. Four of the last five meetings have ended with under 2.5 goals, and five of Reims’ 16 defeats have been by a 1-0 scoreline. This looks like another narrow home win.

      Lille vs Reims Predictions

      Lille to scrape victory

Saturday’s clash between Lille and Reims at Stade Pierre-Mauroy is unlikely to produce many goals. With just 32 goals in 33 games this season, Reims struggle to find the net, while Lille are solid defensively, conceding just 35 times in the same number of matches.

Backing “no” in the both teams not to score market is a nice way to support the idea of few goals.

Lille are fifth in Ligue 1, nine places above Reims, with the two sides separated by 24 points. Lille have won 16 of their 33 games this season and trail fourth-placed Nice on goal difference in the race for Champions League qualification, while Reims have eight wins.

Lille’s recent form in Ligue 1 has been up and down, with three wins, one draw and two defeats in their last six games. Reims are struggling to find a win, having gone three games without recording a victory.

Reims lost 2-0 to St-Etienne last weekend in their last Ligue 1 outing and this was a poor outcome for them, who had been priced at 21/20 to win the game. The result kept up Reims’ run of matches where both teams did not score.

At least one team has failed to score in Reims’ last six Ligue 1 matches and Lille’s recent games have also been low-scoring. In fact, in three of the last four clashes between these two sides, at least one of the teams blanked.

A narrow 1-0 victory for Lille looks the most likely outcome. Four of the last five Ligue 1 meetings between these two sides have gone under 2.5 goals and five of Reims’ 16 defeats this season have been by a 1-0 scoreline.

Realistically, Lille’s best hope of qualifying for the Champions League is to better Nice’s result when they play Brest in Saturday’s final round of matches rather than overhaul the goal difference of four.
