Lorient vs Monaco Betting Tips

It’s difficult to say that a team is doing badly or well in French Ligue 1 this season. A couple of wins or defeats can move a team either into Europa League contention or towards the relegation scrap. Lorient encapsulate that pretty well, but there are signs that the traditional relegation battlers might enjoy a much safer campaign in 2015/16.

They do have a tricky run to overcome heading into Sunday’s match-up with Monaco. They were knocked out of the Coupe de la Ligue in midweek action against Bordeaux and they’re without a win in their last three Ligue 1 matches.

Monaco are where they want to be in the table. They’re currently fourth place and just one point behind second. Dreams of competing for the domestic league title may have vanished, but there are still very definite Champions League places on the line.

Recent form hasn’t been spectacular, they finished 2015 with a 0-0 draw with last place win-less Troyes and they then started 2016 by failing to beat Gazelec Ajaccio at home. Now is the time to make a move in the table for this club, but can they string a set of results together?
