      Lyon vs PSG Predictions

Lyon put in a good challenge for the Ligue 1 title last season, and if you look back about a year you would find Lyon topping the table ahead of eventual champions Paris Saint Germain. The landscape is much different now. Lyon have suffered ten defeats already this season, three more than the whole of last term, whilst Paris Saint Germain have run away with the Ligue 1 lead.
The visitors remain a huge 24 points ahead of 2nd placed Monaco and hold a 34 point advantage over Lyon. This means that they could potentially wrap the Ligue 1 title up next weekend against Montpellier. PSG are now unbeaten in 36 Ligue 1 matches, a record dating back almost 12 months now, and they are also closing in on Nantes record 32-game unbeaten streak in one season.

      Reasons for Betting Tips

Lyon may be unbeaten in the four home matches since they moved to Parc OL in January, but with a host of players missing through injury and suspension I’m not expecting that run to continue this weekend. The hosts have already been beaten by Paris Saint Germain on three occasions this season, and the gulf in class between the two sides is absolutely huge compared to last term.

Paris Saint Germain have won 19 of their last 20 matches in all competitions and are just looking unstoppable in France at the moment. Their only failure to win was a goalless draw against Lille, which came a few days before their Champions League clash with Chelsea and saw PSG rest the unstoppable Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The odds on offer for a PSG win look incredibly good value given their record this season, and a comfortable 3-1 victory at the Parc OL at 14/1 looks good value too.

      Lyon: LWLWWLD
      Paris Saint Germain: WWDWWWW

      Head to Head

Paris Saint Germain have already beaten Lyon three times this season, with the aggregate score for those matches being 10-2 to the dominant PSG. This run makes it four wins in a row for the visitors and they are unbeaten against Lyon in seven encounters.

      Statistics

Paris Saint Germain have won 86% of their away matches this season and have picked up 38 points from their 14 away days.

      Team News

Lyon – The hosts saw key players Clement Grenier and Christophe Jallet sent off in their defeat to Lille last weekend, and they will join Rafael, Nabil Fekir, Alddo Kalulu, Mathieu Valbuena, and Corentin Tolisso on the list of unavailable players. Lyon are a squad depleted of some key players at the moment for one of the toughest fixtures of the season.
Paris Saint Germain – Attacking midfielder Javier Pastore is still recovering from a calf problem he picked up in January, with Gregory van der Wiel also in recovery following his appendectomy. Serge Aurier remains suspended after his social media outburst.
