Malawi struggling to score

Malawi kicked off their African Cup of Nations with a 1-0 defeat to Guinea on Monday, a result that has become all too familiar in recent months.

‘The Flames’ have only won two of their last 13 games, with goals proving a real problem as they have failed to score in four of their last six matches.

Both teams have scored in just two of their most recent eight outings, while four of those fixtures have seen less than three goals netted.

Zimbabwe on a terrible run

Whatever problems Malawi have are mirrored by Zimbabwe, who are on a run of no wins in 13 and just one in their last 20 fixtures.

They too are finding goals hard to come by, having failed to score in six of their last eight games, while both teams have scored in just four of their last 15 matches.

They started the tournament with a tight 1-0 loss to Senegal and know they will be all but knocked out with a defeat here.

But it is incredibly tough to see where the goals are coming from, so I predict there will be fewer than three goals and that both teams will not score, selecting 0-0 as a correct score prediction.
