      Manchester City to Win

      Reason for tip

Liverpool have steadied the ship with wins over Aston Villa and Real Madrid, but Manchester City and Erling Haaland provide a tough test what what has been a shaky Reds defence, so take the hosts to come out on top.

      Manchester City 3-1

      Reason for tip

Manchester City have scored ten goals in their last three matches, but they have conceded on each occasion, so take a chance on this match ending in a 3-1 victory for the Citizens.

      Tijjani Reijnders To Score Anytime

      Reason for tip

Erling Haaland is an obvious anytime-goalscorer choice, but take a chance on Dutchman Tijjani Reijnders finding the net. He has had multiple goal attempts in seven of his ten league appearances this term.

      Manchester City vs Liverpool Predictions

      • Liverpool have lost six of their last nine games.
      • City have scored ten goals in their last three outings.
      • Erling Haaland has scored twice in four of his last six home matches.

City equipped to improve poor record against Reds

Manchester City and Liverpool have both had their wobbles this season which explains how they have allowed Arsenal to take a grip of the Premier League title race, and that should ensure an intense meeting at the Etihad on Sunday.

Recent league meetings have been tight – five of their last six have ended with fewer than three goals and City will be conscious they have won just one of the last eight.

However, that situation could be rectified at the weekend.

A 2-0 victory over Aston Villa was a welcome relief for the Reds after six defeats in their previous seven matches, but Arne Slot’s side have looked generally shaky at the back, which is not good news when you are preparing to face the world’s most in-form centre forward.

Liverpool defence is a cause for concern

Erling Haaland has been rampant with 13 goals in his opening ten league games and he has failed to score in just two of his 17 club and international appearances this term.

The pace with which he exploited the Bournemouth backline in the 3-1 win over the Cherries on Sunday would strike fear into any rearguard and Liverpool may, like so many others, just be unable to live with him.

That should give City, who have lost just once since the end of August, a big advantage in this key clash and correct-score punters may fancy supporting a 3-1 win for City, which they posted against Swansea in the EFL Cup and at home to Bournemouth in the league recently.

Keep a close eye on Reijnders

Haaland can be expected to find the net in  Sunday’s clash, but there is little value to be had in the price, so it is worth taking a chance on Dutchman Tijjani Reijnders also making his mark.

The midfielder has not scored since an impressive City debut in a 4-0 win at Wolves, but he has had more than one effort in six of his ten league appearances and this could be the week that he gets back into the scoring groove.
