Manchester United vs Sunderland Predictions
Manchester United have finally started to come together in these past couple of weeks for almost the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson left.
Anthony Martial has burst into the squad after his surprising deadline day move to Man United. He has started proving he could be worth the £36+ million price tag already, scoring against Liverpool, netting a brace against Southampton, and scoring again against Ipswich on Wednesday.
He already looks like the best finisher Manchester United possess, and I expect Louis Van Gaal will currently be deciding whether he should be a permanent fixture in his first team.
Their 3-2 win against Southampton proved that their attack is coming along nicely following a some unconvincing performances early on in the season.
They could even challenge for the title this season by the looks of things, and they are only two points behind Manchester City at the top now.
Sunderland won’t be challenging for silverware any time soon. They went out of the League Cup to Man United cross-city rivals in midweek, with the 4-1 defeat piling more misery onto Dick Advocaat.
That made it four defeats, two draws, and one win in Sunderlands opening seven competitive games this season. Their sole win came against the lowly Exeter City in the last round of the Capital One Cup.
But they even managed to conceded three goals against them. This makes it 20 goals conceded in seven matches, and with Manchester United finding their feet up front this could be a demolition job on Saturday.
Odds of 10/11 for Manchester United Over 2.5 Team Goals may seem short, but against this defence I wouldn’t be surprised if they scored five, so Over 2.5 looks good value to me. I’m also backing a correct score of 4-0 at 10/1.
