Manchester United vs West Brom Betting Tips

Manchester United finally got back to winning ways in midweek, but they left it late. It took until the 79^th minute for the out of form Wayne Rooney to open the scoring as they beat CSKA Moscow 1-0.

This was their first win in four matches, with all of the previous four ending as draws after 90 minutes and a total of only two goals being scored.

This makes it just two wins in Manchester United’s last seven games in all competitions, a run of results which has seen them drop four points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City and get knocked out of the Capital One Cup.

West Brom have been very hit and miss this season. Tony Pulis’ usually solid defence seems to crumble when they concede a goal.

They have kept an excellent seven clean sheets in all competitions this season, but in the six games they have let one slip they have seen three goals put past them on five occasions.

The most recent of these was in their 3-2 loss to Leicester last weekend, when the comeback kings cancelled out a first half goal from Salomon Rondon to beat the home side.

This leaves them in 12^th position in the Premier League with 14 points from their opening 11 games, and a win on Saturday could take them as high as 8^th in the table.

Past meetings between these sides suggest it will be a close game. West Brom have won two of the last five games against Manchester United, with the United only winning once and three draws being played out.

Only one of these games have seen either team win by more than a single goal, and with the recent poor scoring form of both sides we’re not expecting any repeats of their 5-5 thriller back in 2013: Sir Alex Ferguson’s last game in charge.

The tightness between these sides and Manchester United’s poor form up front recently makes me look towards a West Brom +1.5 Asian Handicap, and odds of 1.875 for this outcome look really good value.
