We use stars to rate our confidence in our tips, with 3 being most confident to 1 being the least.
Millwall 2-1 @ 17/2

Reason For Millwall vs Reading Predictions

  • Millwall have found the net in 100% of their home games this season.
  • The Royals have conceded in 77% of their away trips.
  • Reading have scored in 9 of their last 10 matches in all competitions.
  • 5 of Millwall’s last 6 home league games have seen both teams score.

Form Battle

Saturday’s meeting between the sides in eighth and 14th in the Championship is actually an encounter between two of the form sides in the division. Only Middlesbrough and Brentford have picked up more points in their last eight games than Millwall and Reading, who have sparked winning runs to climb the table.

Millwall have won three on the spin at home, while Reading have claimed four wins in their last five matches in the Championship to move towards the playoffs. Which of these two sides will continue their good form in this meeting at The Den on Saturday?

Tough Test for Royals

This is a difficult trip for the visitors, especially given that they were involved in a midweek FA Cup replay which stretches their squad. Mark Bowen’s men won 2-0 at Blackpool, but they are quickly back on the road having won just four of 13 trips in the league this term. Reading are looking to win consecutive away league games in London for the first time since April 2014 (a run of three). On top of that, they haven’t completed a league double over Millwall since the 2005-06 season

Since Gary Rowett’s first league game in charge, only West Brom (1) have lost fewer Championship games than Millwall (2). The Lions have been in fantastic form in the league, winning over half of their clashes here. The Lions have been a consistent threat to opposition defences, scoring in 100% of their home games so far this term.

Reading Run

The visitors built their bounce in form on a string of cleans sheets, but they also got lucky with how the fixtures fell for them. Overall the Royals have conceded in 77% of their away trips, conceding away in all but one of their visits to teams above them in the table. That record should get worse here, with Millwall scoring in their last six meetings.

The hosts have found the net in 89% of their league games this season, while Reading have scored in nine of their last 10 matches. The Royals should grab a goal in this trip – both teams have scored in five of Millwall’s last six at home in the league. We are going for BTTS as our first pick in this clash, following that streak from the Lions.

Millwall come into this clash having edged their encounters with the Royals at The Den in recent years. Millwall have won each of their last two home league matches against Reading, while his fixture tends to favour the hosts. There have been just eight away wins in the last 32 meetings between the pair. Five of their last six encounters have brought a home win, so we’re backing Millwall to edge this 2-1.
