Solidifying their spot

For Scotland, this game presents a tremendous opportunity to seal their place in the play-offs. With 17 points they find themselves four in front of Israel who they beat last month and with a tricky game against group winners Denmark, to follow they won’t want to leave anything to chance.

The Tartan Army haven’t been at a World Cup since 1998 but a run of four straight wins in qualifying has seen them move into a play-off position. Scotland won 3-2 against Israel last month before getting over the line against the Faroe Islands and you would expect them to take all three points versus a nation ranked 181st in the world.

Moldova are bottom of Group F having lost seven of their qualifiers so far. They lost 2-1 in Israel last time out following a 4-0 defeat at home to Denmark. Scotland eked out a 1-0 victory the last time these nations met but with Moldova down and out you would expect Scotland to go at them early.

Moldova have lost four of their last five games while also losing at half-time. Scotland will most likely race into the lead and we’re expecting a comfortable 3-0 win for the visitors here.
