New York City vs DC United Predictions

• Both teams have scored in five of New York City’s last six MLS matches.
• Both teams have netted in the last two meetings including DC United’s 2-1 win in Washington earlier this season.

Both teams to strike in New Jersey

New York City were defeated 2-1 by DC United in Washington back in April and make little appeal at odds-on for this Sunday’s MLS clash against the Black-and-Red at Red Bull Arena.

The Pigeons are far too short at around 1/2 based on that result and their recent home form, as although they posted a 1-0 victory here against Atlanta United in midweek, Ronny Deila’s side were beaten on their previous two starts at Red Bull Arena by Columbus Crew (1-2) and New England (2-3).

City’s position in the market means DC United are temptingly priced for this one at 9/2 after collecting seven points from their last three league games, although six of those were secured against a pretty weak Inter Miami outfit who languish 11^th in the Eastern Conference.

Three defeats from five on the road this term for DC United ultimately pushes us away from the 1X2 market here and both teams to score rates a better option.

All but one of New York City’s last six games have seen both teams hit the net, and that’s also been the case in the previous two encounters between these two sides, including DC’s aforementioned success in the capital two months ago.

With goals expected and both ends and neither team handed the vote, we’re also tipping a 2-2 correct score for this weekend’s action in The Big Apple.
