Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Both of these teams are fighting for promotion and both are in fine scoring form. Ipswich have scored in 16 consecutive games and Norwich have gone 12 without drawing a blank, so back both teams to score.

Ipswich 2-1

Reason for tip

Carrow Road hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for Ipswich but they have momentum coming into this game with nine wins in their last 10 games. The Tractor Boys are closing in on automatic promotion and can grind out a 2-1 win and secure a first win at Norwich since 2006 on Saturday.

Norwich vs Ipswich Predictions

  • Norwich have scored in 12 consecutive games.
  • Ipswich have scored in 16 consecutive games.
  • The Tractor Boys have nine wins in their last 10.

An East Anglian Derby with plenty at stake

Norwich entertain local rivals Ipswich in the latest edition of the East Anglian Derby in the early Championship kick off on Saturday in a fixture that could potentially be a Premier League affair next season.

Ipswich lead the way in the second tier as they bid for back-to-back promotions, while the Canaries hold the final play-off spot.

Goals at both ends appeals

Both of these teams are in fine form and the best starting point here could be looking towards the goals markets, rather than match result, and both teams to score looks a solid option.

Norwich have scored in 12 straight games, while Ipswich have scored in 16 successive fixtures. There have also been goals at both ends in seven of the last nine meetings between these two rivals, and with both sides gunning for promotion we should see some real attacking intent from both teams – so backing both teams to score, even at a short price, looks a good option.

Ipswich can claim rare Carrow Road win

Norwich have dominated this fixture for over a decade now and Ipswich haven’t beaten the Norfolk outfit since 2009, while their last win as an away side came three years earlier.

The Canaries have won seven successive home games so they should come into this clash in confident mood but I’m still leaning towards a win for the visitors here.

Ipswich have nine wins in their last 10 games and have moved into pole position in the table. Norwich went down 3-1 at Leicester last time out and have dropped points against Middlesbrough (L), Blackburn (D) and QPR (D) over the course of their last 10 games, so they are occasionally vulnerable even if those slip ups have come on the road.

This is one of those games that will probably be decided by small margins and neither side is likely to run away with it. However, Ipswich are the team with the momentum as they close in on a top two finish and they can send out a statement with a hard-fought 2-1 win at the home of their fierce rivals.
