Notts County vs Chesterfield Predictions
- Chesterfield have lost one of their last nine away games.
- Notts County have kept two clean sheets in their last ten matches at Meadow Lane.
- The Magpies have scored one goal in each of their last four outings.
County’s lead looks vulnerable
Notts County will be delighted to head back to Meadow Lane with a one-goal advantage from the first leg of their League Playoff semi-final against Chesterfield, but they may not be able to book their train tickets to Wembley just yet.
Jayden Luker’s goal proved the difference in Derbyshire, but that was one of only two shots that the Magpies mustered in the entire game, and they were fortunate not to fall behind after the Spireites were awarded an early penalty.
After suffering a defeat to Barnet and drawing with Bristol Rovers in their final two regulation home games of the League Two season, County are unable to take anything for granted and the visitors will be confident that they are still well in the tie.
Visitors are strong on the road
Chesterfield have been strong on their travels towards the end of the campaign and their 2-1 win at Swindon on the final day meant they were defeated in just one of their final nine road outings of the campaign.
County can be expected to be more proactive in the final third and have scored once in each of their last four games, but it is worth chancing that the visitors can do enough to at least force extra-time, with a 2-1 away win of potential interest for those looking for a correct-score punt.
