Impressive Olympiacos will be tough to handle this time

The hosts are in impressive form. They won 2-1 over the weekend to maintain their place at the top of the table in the Greek Super League and it’s no more than they deserve after an unbeaten eight-game streak to start the season, the perfect way to start a title defence. They’ll be eager to carry that form over into the Europa League and will look to avenge their recent 3-1 loss to German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt.

The visitors have been somewhat riding their luck lately and needed a 94th-minute equaliser to save their blushes against RB Leipzig over the weekend. It merely papers over the cracks as they have had a pretty poor season so far in the German top flight. They have drawn six of their ten games so far and sit in 15th, so this competition will be a welcomed break from their domestic woes and they’ll look to maintain their position at the top of Group D.

Goals the play

We think there will be goals in this one as both teams look to attack. The hosts will be desperate to avoid a repeat of the previous meeting between these two, meanwhile, Frankfurt will want to gain a tighter grip on the top spot. Victory would mean more to the hosts so whilst we think there will be goals, we also think if any side is going to get the win, it’ll be an Olympiacos side in form.
