      Both Teams To Score

      Reason for tip

Plymouth have struggled defensively this season, conceding the most goals in the Championship (66) and failing to keep a clean sheet in 19 of their last 21 league games. Cardiff, while better defensively, have conceded 54 goals and have not kept a clean sheet in their last five matches. Both teams have been prolific in attack, with Plymouth scoring in four of their last five games and Cardiff netting in 10 of their last 11.

      Cardiff 2-1

      Reason for tip

The 2-1 away win for Cardiff seems likely as three of their seven league wins this season have come by that scoreline, and Plymouth’s vulnerability at the back gives Cardiff a good chance of winning with goals on both sides.

      Plymouth Argyle vs Cardiff Predictions

      Bluebird can score in defeat

Plymouth have scored in four of their last five Championship games and Cardiff have scored in ten of their last 11 league matches, so back both teams to get on the scoresheet at Home Park on Saturday.

Both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season, but Cardiff are three places above Plymouth in the table with a four-point advantage. The hosts are 23rd with six wins and 16 losses, while Cardiff have seven wins and 14 defeats.

Cardiff have not won any of their last four Championship away games and have failed to secure victory in nine of the last ten on the road. Their last two away trips ended in defeat.

The Bluebirds’ last Championship game finished in a 1-1 stalemate with Bristol City. The draw was no surprise given that Cardiff were priced at 9/5 to win.

The last time these two met in the Championship, Cardiff won 5-0, although the Pilgrims will be hopeful of securing revenge under new manager Miron Muslic, who has led them to home wins over West Brom and Millwall either side of their FA Cup triumph over Liverpool.

Both teams are struggling defensively. Plymouth have failed to keep a clean sheet in 19 of their last 21 league games and no team has conceded more in the Championship this season than their 66 goals against. Cardiff have shipped 54 goals this season – an average of 1.69 goals conceded per game – and have not kept a clean sheet in five straight matches.

The 2-1 away win for Cardiff looks a decent correct-score bet. Of Cardiff’s seven league wins this season, three were by a 2-1 scoreline.
