Rayo Vallecano vs Real Sociedad Predictions

Real Sociedad have found the net at least twice in four of their last six Primera Liga games and the best bet may well be that both teams score when they visit Rayo Vallecano at Campo de Futbol de Vallecas on Sunday. Rayo won 1-0 last time they met Real Sociedad in the league but both sides scored in five of the previous seven.

Real Sociedad are eighth in the league, eight places above Rayo Vallecano, but both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season. The hosts are 16th with eight wins and 12 losses, while Real Sociedad have 11 wins and 12 defeats.

Rayo Vallecano’s recent form has been inconsistent, with two wins, two draws and two defeats in their last six games, but they are unbeaten in nine of their last ten home matches. In contrast, Real Sociedad have lost three of their last four on the road.

Goals have proved easy to come by for Real Sociedad lately, with just four Primera Liga sides having scored more than the 49 goals they have racked up this season.

Four of the last six Primera Liga meetings between these sides have seen both teams score, and six of the last seven times that Rayo Vallecano have hosted Real Sociedad in the competition have ended with goals at both ends. Both teams to score has been a winning bet in 12 of Real Sociedad’s last 15 away games.

Neither side has impressed defensively of late. Rayo Vallecano have failed to keep a clean sheet in six of their last eight league games, while Real Sociedad have conceded 49 goals this season in the competition – an average of 1.53 goals per game from 32 matches.

It could be hard to separate these two sides, with the 1-1 draw looking a decent correct-score bet. Six of Rayo Vallecano’s last eight Primera Liga matches have ended with under 2.5 goals and 19 of their 31 league matches this season have finished with under 2.5 goals.
