Betis can put Espanyol away at home

Real Betis are the best bet to win at home to Espanyol on Saturday. The visitors have lost four of their last five away games in the Primera Liga and could be heading for another defeat here.

They are sixth places above Espanyol in the table, with a seven-point advantage. The hosts, who have won 11, drawn 11 and lost seven this season, sit fifth, while Espanyol are 11th having won ten, drawn seven and lost 12 of their 29 games.

Espanyol could not break their losing run last time out, despite dominating the game with 65.5% possession – more than in any Primera Liga game they’ve played this season. Roberto Fernandez found the net for Espanyol, but they ended up 2-1 losers to Getafe. They were priced at 7/5 to win the game.

Real Betis are in good form at home, having lost just one of their last nine league games on their own turf. They have gone six games unbeaten in the Primera Liga and have only lost one of their last ten head-to-heads with Espanyol.

Espanyol, on the other hand, have been struggling for results lately, going 12 games without recording a victory. They have failed to win any of their last six away games.

The visitors are looking vulnerable at the back. Espanyol have failed to keep a clean sheet in 16 of their last 19 Primera Liga games and have conceded on each of their last seven road trips.

A 2-0 win for Real Betis looks the best correct-score bet. Four of Espanyol’s 12 league losses this season have been by that scoreline and four of Betis’ 11 Primera Liga successes have come by two goals.
