Rennes have scored at least twice in four of their last six Ligue 1 games and over 3.5 goals is the recommended bet for Sunday’s Breton derby against Nantes at Roazhon Park.

Rennes are fifth in the league, 12 places and 33 points above Nantes, with 15 wins so far this season. The visitors have won four of their 30 games.

Rennes have won eight of their last ten home games against Nantes in Ligue 1 and come into this match in good form, having recorded seven victories in their last nine league games. In contrast, Nantes are struggling to find a win, having gone seven games without recording a victory.

Fifteen of Rennes’ 30 league matches this season have produced over 3.5 goals and it has been a winning bet in six of their 15 home games.

Both teams are struggling defensively. Nantes have conceded 49 goals this season in Ligue 1 – an average of 1.63 goals per game from 30 games – while Rennes have failed to keep a clean sheet in four of their last five league games against Nantes.

A 3-1 home win for Rennes is an appealing correct-score bet. Nantes have been involved in some low-scoring games of late – six of the last eight have gone under 2.5 goals – but they conceded three goals in their last Ligue 1 game and there were five goals in their clash with Strasbourg last month, when they lost 3-2.
