Roma vs Benevento Predictions

• Roma are unbeaten in their last five home matches, winning three.
• Both teams have scored in each of Roma’s last five outings at Stadio Olimpico.
• Both teams have scored in all three of Benevento’s games this term.

Roma are fancied to justify odds-on favouritism against Benevento at Stadio Olimpico on Sunday evening, but I Giallorossi may not have everything their own way against last season’s Serie B champions.

Filippo Inzaghi’s team have made an impressive start to life back in the top flight, posting victories against Bologna (1-0) and Sampdoria (2-3) either side of a 2-5 defeat against Inter. 

With confidence and momentum flowing through the squad following promotion, the visitors shouldn’t be dismissed lightly here, although that comprehensive defeat to Inter indicates Gli Stregoni are going to be vulnerable against the top outfits in Serie A.

Of course, Roma have to prove that they are still a major force in Italy after stumbling to a fifth place finish last season and their campaign began catastrophically as they were handed a 3-0 defeat for fielding an ineligible player against Verona.

A subsequent 2-2 draw with Juventus and 0-1 victory against Udinese have got I Giallorossi up and running though and it’s hard to envisage Fonseca’s side not landing the spoils here. Benevento’s quality and eye for goal should see them hit the scoresheet again, but we’re backing a home win and both teams to score alongside a 3-1 score-line.
