Roma to continue fantastic form

Roma can bring Fiorentina’s two-game winning league run to an end when they host Raffaele Palladino’s side at Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.

They are two places above Fiorentina in the table, but just one point separates the hosts and visitors. Sixth-placed Roma have won 17, drawn nine and lost eight of their 34 games this season, while Fiorentina are eighth with 17 wins, eight draws and nine defeats.

Roma maintained their winning run last weekend, with a first-half goal enough to get the job done against highflying Inter. Roma had the chances to beat Inter by more than the one-goal margin and the 17/5 odds was the biggest price they have won at so far this season.

They will be encouraged by Fiorentina’s recent struggles in defence, with the visitors having conceded on each of their last nine Serie A road trips and they were in action on Thursday, losing 2-1 at Betis in the first leg of their Conference League semi-final.

Roma have gone ten home games unbeaten in Serie A and have enjoyed success in eight of their last ten at Stadio Olimpico. They are also unbeaten in nine of their last ten home games against Fiorentina in the league.

Both teams have scored in six of the last eight Serie A meetings between Fiorentina and Roma, but a narrow 2-1 win for the hosts is the correct-score pick. Roma have won 11 of their games this season by a single goal.
