Santa Clara have attacking power to pip Portimonense 

Portimonense’s fading hopes of bringing European football to the Algarve could be further hit when they travel to the Azores to take on an in-form Santa Clara side on Monday. The hosts have won four and drawn one of their last five at Estádio de São Miguel and gave the mighty Benfica a big scare at the Luz last weekend.

Prior to that 2-1 defeat, Santa Clara had notched two goals or more in five consecutive league games and their confidence is unlikely to have been dented too much in Lisbon. Mario Silva was without two important attacking midfielders for that clash and will surely welcome Cryzan and Lincoln straight back into the line-up after suspension.

The visitors from Portimao have fared much better on their travels than at home this season and potentially spring a surprise at 3/1. But the away-day aptitude that saw Portimonense win five of their first seven league road games seems to have deserted them during a sequence of two defeats and a draw in their subsequent three.

Stats point to prospect of several goals

That leaves as uncertain as the oddsmakers about their prospects of victory on Monday, but there has been some sustained consistency from them in terms of scoring goals.
